Chorisia Speciosa or Floss Silk Tree is blooming at La Costa del Sol.
This native tree from Subtropical America has got a big bottle shaped trunk with big sharp spikes. The pink or creme white flowers appears all October and November at the Costa del Sol. With the flowers, although all the leaves will leave the tree and coconut-big nuts full of white silky material will dress the tree through the winter months until the new green leaves appears in March.
This trees grows very well at the Costa del Sol and we recommend to plant them at big gardens far away from the pool. They grow very big and are beautiful eye catchers for big gardens. You can find them easily at all garden Centers in different sizes.
